Your advocate Denise

Message her here when leaving the room feels like too much. She'll see it and reply — you don't have to wait in person.

Or start with a question:

Your advocate can submit a referral and walk you through eligibility. Ask: "Can you help me start a Rapid Rehousing referral?"

Yes — ask about School Readiness and local aftercare. Your advocate can connect you to available services.

Ask about reduced-fare PSTA passes and ride programs. See the Transportation resources under Find help.

Understand what you're feeling

After long-term stress, your nervous system is running on empty. Brain fog, tiredness, and trouble focusing are normal trauma responses — not weakness, and not permanent.

Trauma bonds are real and chemical. Missing someone who hurt you doesn't mean you should go back — it means you're human. It fades with time and distance.

Length of stay varies by program — your advocate will tell you your timeline. Keeping your space tidy and staying in touch with staff helps everything go smoothly.
